I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this post. It was timely and relevant, well-researched, well-written and well-edited. Personally, I enjoy this format over the longer-to-digest and non-transcribed podcast format. I hope others will give you feedback on what works best to get the message out.
I look forward to more posts like this, exploring the historical roots of how racially motivated theocratic nationalism quickly came to define one of America's two political parties, as well as how well Liberal Enlightenment Democracy under the auspices of the United Nations, EU and NATO can still move forward while the USA is still turning against itself over these issues.
Excellent post but with a broken metaphor running through it. The right is not tilting at (jousting, attacking with a lance) Franco and then Orban. I'm sure there's a better Quixotic metaphor for their theocratic fantasies, but I don't know the novel well enough to propose one.

Bill Barr is notable for his fanatical integralism as well.
